The second half of April is a season when Xiamen’s flower blooms. With the tremendous support from the the university’s party committee and labor union and in order to combine teacher’s spare-time activities and party lectures, the Party branch of the graduate school and the graduate union co-organized a spring outing themed as “remember the Red memory, carry out the mission to strengthen our country” to feel the enormous change happened in Xiamen and Xiamen University after through reform and development.

9:00 in the morning, Tao Tao, secretary of the Party branch of the graduate school, executive dean, and other staffs of the graduate school took the minibus to the battlefield sightseeing park of Sandao on the Dadeng island. There used to be heavy smoke of gunpowder in artillery battle. It used to be the front of the ten year feuds between the communist party and the National Party. But it also witnessed the compatriot friendship across the strait. The teachers paid a visit to the memorial hall of “eight two three ”artillery battle, hero statue square, underground tunnel left by the artillery battle, the biggest broadcasting horn for military use, the “Red Memory” collection pavilion, etc. They learned the history of the“eight two three ”artillery battle thoroughly, and relived the history of the people of Sandao fighting bravely and supporting the front. 

In the celebration of the 95^th anniversary of Xiamen University, to deepen teachers understanding for Xiamen University in all respect, teachers in the graduate school drove to Xiang’an campus to enjoy the beautiful scenery there. In the newly built library, everyone is exited. They recalled their memory of working in the university and the graduate school and exchanged their work experience. They told their China dream, Xiamen University dream, and their career dream.

        On the way back, teachers all said that this spring outing benefit them very much. They had applied their knowledge of the Party class in their daily life. They reminded themselves of the past misery and appreciated the modern happy life. They strengthened their belief to be a qualified Party member. Visiting the Xiang’an campus made them rediscovered the beauty of our campus in a relaxed environment. From now on, the graduate school will keep upholding the principle proposed by the general secretary Xi Jinping “listen to the Party, able to win, keep good style”. We will keep loyal to the Party, create a fair and just work environment, proactively innovate and improve work method and management. We will address hot and difficult issue concerning teachers and students. We will improve the quality of postgraduate education and fight for the goal of “two centuries”.
